Our #1 Most Downloaded Resource {& our personal favorite!}

StrengthsFinder Resource Feature Image

In our world of information and resource overload, there are quite nearly a million resources for any given topic.

This morning, for example, when I decided that yesterday was the day for our 6 year old to learn how to tie her shoes, I went to the internet, of course—the worst-best teacher there is! Pretty soon, I had watched over 25 minutes of You Tube videos, all describing the same basic method of shoe tying lessons. By the end, I just closed my browser in annoyance—without even saving a single video to watch again later.

The number of options and resources out there is overwhelming—and sometimes just debilitating.

The world of StrengthsFinder and marriage and team building is no exception. It is nothing short of saturated with resources.

That is why today—among all of Isogo’s free resources—we are giving you a glimpse behind the curtain to our most popular, #1 most downloaded resource.

The concept behind this resource was the game changer for our marriage—not once, but on several, different occasions—heck even THIS VERY week we ONLY solved our conflict {the blow-up type} based on understanding the psychological and emotional needs that our Strengths unveil.

I will give you one example and then dive into the ins and outs of this straightforward, powerful resource.

Let’s say David comes home from a LONG day of school and studying {just like he did on Wednesday evening} to find me at the kitchen table, back to work after putting the kids to bed.

And then let’s say that he sits down in front of me, with his dinner, while I still type away—in the middle of a deep thought {also like Wednesday evening}.

Let’s say that then, after a few minutes, he says something like, “I thought we were going to get to talk when I got home.” And I respond with something like a glance of frustration, and look back down to my deep thought. {Again, just like happened on Wednesday evening…you get that this is not hypothetical!}

Right there, right in that glance up and back down, I violated one of his deepest psychological and emotional needs. And, I knew it. His Relator Strength—for reasons unknown to my Achiever brain—ONLY thrives when he has meaningful one-on-one time with the people he loves.

And when I say he ONLY thrives under that condition, that is no exaggeration. He would agree.

Years ago, before the language and concepts of CliftonStrengths and StrengthsFinder entered our world, this type of interaction would have been dumfounding. And to this very day {to last Wednesday to be exact}, I STILL have a hard time truly believing it and responding with sincere respect for that NEED.

Because the understanding about his deepest needs is with me, however—at least in concept—we can {and did on Wednesday evening!} have a wildly different conversation, and the end of the story is much more fulfilling and peaceful than it ever used to be.
